Once you hit the end of Route 80, towards the end of the trip, when you're feeling both tired and antsy at the same time. Even the exits are pretty far apart (compared to Mass), nevermind finding one that has a Wendy's! <Grin>
The trick for me in SE Mass occurs in Connecticut, where I want to switch from Rt 95 to Rt 84, which shoots you off into UPstate NY, instead of straight through NYC traffic and the seemingly never ending entirety of Route 80 in Pennsylvania! 95 to 84 to 83 to 80 to 79 (sounds like a countdown?) to 422 is our best route. If you're close enough to MA Route 90, that might make a better plan than the back roads I'm usually stuck taking in the middle of CT to get from 95 to 84!
