I go by Morgana Rose, don't currently have an SCA name, but am hoping to use my pseudonym within SCA. I live in the Barony of Lyondemere in Caid and am looking into joining the College of Noe. I've yet to attend any SCA events, but am very interested and have friends who live in the Barony of Gyldenholt, some of whom are at War this weekend. I therefore have no current persona, don't have much to wear for garb and what I do have is "all over the place."

In my mundane life I am working on a teaching credential, hoping to start learning to shinai fight, part of the goth and industrial subculture, an enormous geek of all things anthropological and forensics science related, very active in LGBT activities and outreach on campus and in the community, am very creative and am known by some as "the female MacGeyver."

Not quite sure where all I'll fit in within the SCA, but a friend of mine suggested I could join the Blue Feathers and so here I am. I also have dabbled in belly dancing in my mundane life and can't wait to try it in SCA.

Hi, all,

I'm Lady Aeruin as Sruth Waleis, mka Carin Huber
I'm a Westie, currently living in the Province of the Mists (Oakland, California). I've been in the SCA since 1989, when I got my start in the shire of Wolfscairn, which I still consider "home."
I did a 3 year stint in Caid, I miss the friends I left there terribly, but I'm so glad to be back where there are actual seasons! (The desert is a nice place to visit, but I don't want to live there.)
I'm a member of House Darkclaw, and also of the Von Steinhaus household.
My SCA interests run to book and voice heraldry, singing, socialising, with occasional forays into a number of hand crafts.
My mundane (ha!) interests involve handcrafts of all sorts, paganism, hoodoo, science fiction, and housework avoidance. I'm a craft writer and editor for both the AntiCraft (http://theanticraft.com) and 42 Magazine (http://www.42magazine.com). Baconhenge is my fault. :D
I'm a married bbw, kinky, polyamorous, and bisexual, though I do tend toward het relationships. There is a beautiful woman in my life, and though we are no longer "partners," we are still "family." She and my husband live together full time, and he and I take turns having sleepovers 3-4 times a week. I know, it's weird, but it works for us.

Howdy! :)

Greetings all. I'm Dan. I've no persona yet, but that'll change, I'm sure. I've yet to make it to Pennsic, but not for lack of trying (for lack of money and time, but that'll also change). I'm an historian (medieval specialist), and a teacher of history (well, I'm certified, but not yet teaching due to the state of the current job market). I'm an amateur genaeologist with a passion for British monarchic history/development. I'm also an Hellenic polytheist (which means pretty much what you expect it to mean). Not sure what else to say about myself here, so feel free to ask.

Salve, Daeron and anyone else. And welcome.

I'm curious, i know. But your invitation calls it. Does it mean what i should expect it to mean? I mean, that there're organized Hellenic polytheist cults nowadays. It would be interesting to know about them. Or it is just a private devotion? Maybe some of these cults are more fit to personal pray than monotheist religions.

Thanks.

Yep. It means what you think it means. There are several groups (both in the US and abroad) devoted to the worship of the ancient Gods. Not just Greek. There are groups for the Egyptian, the Celtic, the Norse, the Roman and (I imagine) Chinese, Japanese, Babylonian, or whatever. I dunno if "Cult" is the word I'd choose, but that's mostly because the word has such negative connotations these days.

Sadly, at this point, since there are so few of us (I know of one other in New Jersey, and she's somewhere up north), most of us are solitary practitioners. But we keep in touch through a vast array of online communities, ranging from Yahoo groups to full-fledged organizations (including at least one recognized by the government as a "church" for tax-free purposes). You can look at my website if you want to know more. Or you can message me and I'll answer as best I can.

Salve, and lots of thanks, Daeron. I prefer abroad, for i'm living in Spain. I myself was born (in the real life) in a share that had been devoted to Aphrodite and Heracles (who is supossed to have founded the oldest of Spanish cities, in one of which i was born). Not being myself a believer, but indeed interested in Phenician and Greek religions.

I'll look throught the web-looking glass.

Thanks again.

Greetings from the Barony of Califia San diego

My persona is a mid 15th century german hawker from nurnberg. I've only been involved with the SCA for about 6 months and ran across this site by accident. Maybe some accidents ARE good things... heh My interests are archery and rapier and are going well so far. Finding costuming for a 15th century german is a little difficult but i like a challenge...I havent been to Pensic yet but have been to the protrero war... woot! I look forward to getting to know more of my kinfolk and wish you all well.........
